Purpose

“Every time you stay out late; every time you sleep in; every time you miss a workout; every time you don’t give 100%… you make it that much easier for me to beat you.”  -Unknown

So it's about 11:30 on a Monday and I'm sitting on my couch waiting for the public library to open, where instead of being productive I will sit in front of the computer until dinner. I decided to start this blog to give myself some motivation that I seriously need.

I am a recent college grad, who played Division I volleyball, and used to be in amazing shape.
Yes I say amazing, as in 6-pack abs, maybe 15% body fat, could eat anything in the world and it would never show up amazing. Now, not so much. My goal is to get back into the shape I was when I was 18. First week: I was on top of my workout, everyday getting up early running, lifting.  Second week: not so much.

So now I am turning to the internet. They say if you share your goals with others it makes you more likely to complete them. So, Internet, I share my goals with you. I want that killer athlete body I had 4 years ago. And I'm going to get it by workout out 6 days a week, every week, without fail for a year.

I don't believe in weighing myself, measuring body fat percentage, or really most numbers people use to decide whether they are an ideal body weight. I will measure my progress by the pace I can run, how many reps I can do, how much weight I can lift, and how I feel about my body when I look in the mirror.

At 8 AM this morning I was supposed to go on a 5 mile run around the monuments in DC followed by upper body and ab weights. Didn't happen. So now, my goal is to workout tonight, before dinner. Which means I better get to this library and work my butt off so I have time.
